Arsenal might be a possible destination for Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford, according to former Premier League defender Jason Cundy. According to reports, the Englishman is contemplating his future at Old Trafford.
So far this season, Rashford has struggled with the Red Devils. In 24 appearances in all competitions, the forward has only scored five goals and supplied two assists. Since the turn of the year, he has only started two Premier League games for Ralf Rangnick's team.
On Sunday, the 24-year-old was also benched during Manchester United's 4-1 loss to Manchester City. With Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, and Mason Greenwood sidelined, the Red Devils went with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba as false nines. Rashford is allegedly evaluating his future at Old Trafford ahead of the summer, frustrated by his lack of playing time. To rekindle his career, Cundy believes the England international will have to part ways with his boyhood club.
Arsenal, according to the former Chelsea defender, may be the perfect fit for Rashford. Cundy predicted that the forward will excel in London under Mikel Arteta's tutelage. In an interview with talkSPORT, he said:
‘’It doesn't help that he's [Rashford] at a club like Manchester United right now, where they're not going anywhere fast." There have been managerial changes, and the season has not been kind to United. I believe he will need to move on. Will he join Arsenal? What do you think Mikel Arteta would do with him? Right now, imagine him at Arsenal. "How come he couldn't go there?"
Claims that Rashford is unhappy at Old Trafford could motivate clubs to keep an eye on him. Paris Saint-Germain [PSG] is reportedly keeping an eye on the Englishman ahead of the summer transfer window.
